It is pretty hard to resist a good piece of sourdough, toasted to perfection. Top it with a light and creamy whipped goat cheese, pears, and a hazelnut and thyme honey? Now that is my kind of toast.
Whipped Goat Cheese & Pear Toast

Serves: 3-4
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3-4 slices sourdough slices (depending on how big the loaf is)
- 4 ounces goat cheese
- 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped hazelnuts, toasted
- ½ teaspoon thyme leaves
- 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
- Flaky salt, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a saute pan, melt butter (if a small pan fitting only 1 piece of toast, do this in batches) over medium heat. Add toast, cooking until golden brown on both sides, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- In a mixing bowl, add goat cheese and cream cheese. Beat together until well combined. Add whipping cream, beating until mixture is a smooth whipped consistency.
- In a small bowl, stir together honey, hazelnuts, and thyme leaves.
- Pipe or spoon goat cheese mixture onto your prepared toast. Top with pear slices, then drizzle honey mixture on top. Sprinkle with a flaky salt, if desired.
