This appetizer has become quite the favorite in our family. My sister, who is an amazing and professionally trained chef, first made them for us one Christmas, and now she will be stuck making them for us forever when we all get together. On the holidays when we can’t make it back to my hometown, I make these for Trevor and his family here, and they are hooked too. This recipe is simple and easy, but a guaranteed hit at any gathering.
Parmesan Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates
Ingredients
- ½ lb Parmesan, cut into 18 little sticks small enough to fit into dates (you might have leftover cheese)
- 18 pitted dates
- 6 bacon slices, cut into thirds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Stuff 1 piece of cheese into each date, then wrap 1 piece of bacon around each date, securing it with a toothpick. Arrange dates on a cookie sheet covered with foil.
- Bake about 7 minutes, then turn dates. Continue baking until bacon is crisp, about 5-10 minutes more. Remove from oven and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
