If you think hot chocolate is cozy and satisfying on a cold winter day, try out this hot salted caramel drink. We love sea salt caramels in our house, and having them in drink form is an extra delicious treat. Don’t skip out on the salt, it will balance out the sweet. We tend to split this recipe into 3-4 small portions since it is a rich drink, but this recipe would serve 2 if you are wanting larger portions.
Hot Salted Caramel Drink

Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 12-15 soft caramels, unwrapped
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- Sea salt, to taste
Instructions
- Heat milk in a medium sauce pan over medium heat until hot but not scalded. Lower heat and add caramels, whisking until melted and well combined. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and sea salt. Serve warm or hot.
Notes
Number of caramels will vary slightly on exact size of caramels and how strong of a caramel taste you want. You can start with less and add more, to taste.
