I always love having something a little crunchy and a little sweet to add to my salads, and these honey candied pistachios are perfect for that. If they make it long enough to go in a salad, that is. We have a hard time not just snacking and eating the whole bunch as they cool. Don’t worry if the coating looks too sticky, it will harden as it cools.
Honey Candied Pistachios
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 cup shelled pistachios
Instructions
- In a medium pan over medium heat, combine the sugar and honey. Let cook until sugar is dissolved. Add pistachios and a pinch of salt (unless your pistachios are already salted), stirring to combine. Turn the heat up to medium high, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the syrup evenly coats the pistachios and is very thick.
- Dump pistachios in an even layer onto a piece of parchment to cool. The coating will be sticky, but will harden as it sits. Let cool completely.

These pistachios are delicious and so easy to make! I used them to top a cake and the extra I used as a salad topping. Thank you for shaing.

Oh I like that idea! A little for something savory, a little for something sweet! So glad you liked them!

They turned out perfectly! I rough chopped them and then separated the pieces after they cooled. I’m going to use them in fig preserve, and majorly date, and pistachio ice cream. The base for the ice cream is honey and brown sugar. This is going to be absolutely delicious!!! Thank you for this!!!

I was just thinking of adding a glazed pistachio to
my red and green salad for Christmas. I wondered if anyone had already tried glazing pistachios and worked out the kinks and so found your recipe. Thank-you!
